Some military touches remain in this sympathetically refurbished retreat – entrance via the drawbridge, and bedrooms in the military quarters and shooting pads. Two restaurants serving Mediterranean cuisine, an infinity pool, direct access to the beach & the sea, free wifi throughout, plus all mod-cons in the rooms brings this old fortress bang up to date.
Created by Antonio Obrador and managed by MHM, Cap Rocat hopes to set a benchmark in eco-tourism. All the original architecture has been preserved, and the restaurants use locally sourced produce. With only 24 rooms (and a no children under 15 policy), Cap Rocat promises to provide a very special and exclusive experience.
What they say
The Cap Rocat is a luxury 5 star hotel in Llucmajor, Mallorca situated on the stunning Balearic Islands of Spain. Formerly a military fortress, this hotel was renovated to maintain its original character, yet provide an environment of leisure and relaxation. Its reddish brown rock walls blend spectacularly with the landscape where it sits in a secluded location on the bay of Palma de Mallorca, overlooking cliffs to the sea. As a guest of Cap Rocat you can relax in one of several lounge areas in former halls scattered throughout the fortress. Comfortable furnishings sit amidst brown stone walls and exposed wood beam ceilings where you can relax with a good book, or your laptop to take advantage of the hotel’s complimentary wireless internet access. You'll have your choice of dining options. The Dining Hall offers Mediterranean cuisine made from local ingredients, and for a more informal experience, you can dine at the Sea Club, appropriately located outdoors next the sea. There, you’ll enjoy grilled fish and meat specialties. Later, pay a visit to the Old Kitchen for some wine tasting. The next day, you can work it all off on the tennis courts or with a few laps in the swimming pool.
