You've got the ancient Greeks (well, the Spartans actually) to thank for the rise and rise of the spa, pampering and relaxation trend that has been a growth market for many years now. The Spartans used to hang out at the steam baths to cleanse and to become at one with mind, body and spirit. Not much has changed, we still use the five basic elements of steam, water, sense, smell and touch to provide relaxation and refreshment. The spas on Mallorca provide all sorts of soothing treatments for wellbeing, with a number of holistic centres offering total rejuvenation over two weeks, to drop-in day spas for a quick manicure. A couple of spas on the island have been nominated in the top five luxury European spa hotels for Conde Nast, so you can rest assured that you will be receiving the best, most luxurious treatments during your visit to Mallorca.
