Mallorca Carnival

18th February 2012 to 19th February 2012

Each year Mallorca celebrates the onset of Lent with street parties and parades. Most towns will be having their own carnival over the weekend, with the largest parties to be found in Palma.

Saturday sees the childrens' parade (Sa Rueta), starting at 5pm from Avenida Jaume III and ending in Placa Reina. Sunday is when the main parade - Sa Rua - takes place. It starts in La Rambla at 5pm, continues along Placa Weyler and Place Joan Carles before finishing in Avenida Jaume III.

Check your local newspaper for details of carnivals in your town. The Majorca Daily Bulletin will summarise all carnival events that week.
