Herb Fair, Selva

Selva hosts its Herb Fair this weekend, with a mixture of agricultural and traditional events taking place during the day and the evening. The event kicks off at 10am and you can enjoy exhibitions, cooking demonstrations and tastings of all things herbal.

Sunday sees a bizarre procession of the 'myrtle' plant, when the shrub is harvested in lands adjacent to the village and is brought in to the village square accompanied by xeremiers (Spanish bagpipes). The plant is then distlled to produce a liqueur - with much rejoicing!
