Unio & La Rambla, Palma de Mallorca
Chocolates, Flowers & Architecture

The streets of Unio and La Rambla have a mixture of decent shops, but what makes it really worth while coming up here are the architectural gems of buildings that line the way. Most famous is the old Gran Hotel at Placa Weyler, but there are a number of other beautiful modernist and gothic structures to admire - remember to look upwards!

At Placa Rei Joan Carles I, at the bottom of Jaume II, the road turns into Carrer Unio. On the left is Palma's best known toy shop, Arlequin, which always has a window display to send a shot of nostalgia through the veins of even the most jaded visitor. In Placa Sta. Catalina Thomas you will find two chocolate shops, Can Frasquet and Cas Net, whose mouth-watering displays are difficult to resist.

After this, Carrer Unio takes a dog-leg to the left and enters La Rambla, where flower sellers line up on the central reservation. Not quite as busy or exciting as it's namesake in Barcelona, La Ramblas still has a charming feel to it. You will also find a range of smart shops here, including B&O, MTB, interior design shops and fashion boutiques.
