Mallorcan restaurant achieves second Michelin Star in 2016 list

Chef Fernando P. Arellano is rewarded

The Michelin Guide for Spain & Portugal 2016 has awarded Zaranda, under the guidance of executive chef Fernando P Arellano, it's second Michelin star. It is the only two star restaurant on Mallorca.

Zaranda is located in the Castell Son Claret Hotel, just outside the village of Es Capdella in Calvia. Mr Arellano has been at the Son Claret since May 2013, and he was awarded his first Michelin star there within the year. The restaurant is proud to use local produce both from their own garden and from local markets. Specialities include “Glazed Pavé of veal with leak and potato salad“, and “Four seasons of the Mallorcan almond“. The famous “black egg“, a creation from egg with a blackened skin from sepia and caviar of Calamari is well known in culinary circles.
