By Ana Hernández, Updated

This brand new route will start on 16 June 2017 and carry on for sixteen weeks, until September. A great chance for Scots to spend their holidays in sunny Mallorca without any stopovers.

The route will connect visitors with several resorts on the island, including Sa Coma, and it will be run by Thomson and First Choice.

This announcement coincides with a project to enlarge Inverness airport. £900,000 will be invested to create a new purpose-built international arrivals hall and upgrade the current building.
