Nightlife in Mallorca: Night Life in Majorca
Bars & Drinking Culture in Mallorca
Evenings in Mallorca are made for sitting on a terrace, sipping a beer or 'cafe con hielo' and enjoying a 'terulia' (chat) until early morning. People start to go out around 10.00pm and bars stay open until 3 or 4am - then it's time to hit the nightclubs. Palma has a bustling bar scene, with the main late night bars on the small narrow streets behind Placa Llonja and in Santa Catalina. Take a look at our Nightlife Reports to get a flavour of what's available! For the rest of the island, locals and visitors tend to congregate in the cafes/bars, either around the town square (placa) or the marina. In the main resorts there are hundreds of bars to choose from, so take your pick as you wander by!
Nightclubs & Dancing
Most of the clubs are found in the major resorts in the southern end of the island, and of course, Palma. You can find DJ bars, up-market nightclubs, jazz clubs, and other live music venues. Many of then open late (very late, as in 2:00 or 3:00 AM!) and you can easily keep partying way after the dawn has arrived.
Pop & Rock Concerts and Dance Music in Mallorca
Mallorca manages to attract its fair share of well known international artists to play live in one of its many venues - Palma Arena, the ONO (football) stadium, Palma Auditorium, and in other venues scattered across the island. 2010 saw concerts by The Cranberries, China Crisis, and Placebo. The legendary DJ Carl Cox performed with fellow DJ's Andy Cato and Tom Findlay (better known as Groove Armada) in August 2010 at the Sports Arena at an all-night festival in Can Picafort in the north of the island. And in September 2010, Elton John gave a concert along with Andrea Bocelli at the Ono Palma de Mallorca football stadium.

An established night out in Mallorca are the dinner shows and spectacles, which can be anything from folklore and flamenco dancing to a medieval banquet complete with jousting and serving wenches, to world class acrobatics. These shows are essentially aimed at tour groups but are open to everyone to enjoy. More often than not, the shows are extremely good, but don't expect too much from the accompanying meal. You can book at any resort hotel or buy tickets directly from the show. Get ready to abandon your inhibitions and join in the fun!
