Water Skiing, Wind Surfing & Pedal Boats
There are wind surfing and kite surfing schools at several of the larger resorts and it is also possible to hire equipment without tuition. Beaches where windsurfing is available include Cala Millor, Cala d'Or, Can Picafort, Formentor, Magaluf, Palma Nova, Peguera, Platja de Palma, Port d'Alcudia, Port de Pollensa, Port de Soller, Portalss and Santa Ponsa. One of our favourite places to windsurf/kitesurf is Son Serra de Marina, on the north-east coast, five miles east of Can Picafort. This is a truly unspoilt beach and a place of magnificent natural beauty. With sand dunes and surf, and glorious mountains in the background, it's a favourite for nature lovers too. Water skiing equipment can be hired on the major beaches, including Cala Millor, Can Picafort, Formentor, Magaluf, Palma Nova, Peguera, Platja de Palma, Port d'Alcudia and Santa Ponsa.
Pedal boats are available for hire (usually from beach bars) at most of the bigger resorts. This includes all those in the bay of Palma as well as Cala Millor, Cala d'or and Porto Cristo on the east coast.
Wind & Friends, Alcudia
Windsurfing equipment and lessons are available at Wind & Friends, who are based in the north of Mallorca at Alcuida. You can take a course with sessions over 4-5 days, and childrens lessons are also available. Rentals include the board, sail, wetsuit and harness. Sailing courses, including catamarans are also available.
Water Sports Mallorca
Based in the north of the island, Water Sports Mallorca has three sites dedicated to windsurfing, kitesurfing & catamaran sailing. Lessons are available for beginners and equipment can be rented for those who know what they're doing! Choose from Playa Esperanza, Playa de Muro and Can Picafort to find the best conditions for your level.
Katama Sailing Centre, Colonia Sant Jordi
Katama Sailing Centre offers both windsurfing and catamarans to sail in the beautiful clear waters of south Mallorca. Catamrans range from 21 to 25 foot and windsurfs are available for all levels of experience. The sialing is held on the beach of Els Estany, just to the east of the popular Es Trenc beach. Enjoy crystal clear waters and constant thermal winds.
