Each year Mallorca celebrates the onset of Lent with street parties and parades. Most towns will be having their own carnival over the weekend, with the largest parties to be found in Palma.
The Ruetta parade is the children's event, and the Rua is the adult parade.
Alcudia has special tapas treats from 8.30pm on the Saturday 6th, followed by a party from 11.00pm with dancing and DJ's. The main Carnival parade is on Sunday 7th starting in the Esplanada de l'Esglesia.
In Pollenca, the carnival parade is at 5pm on the 6th. There will be a childrens party at l'Envelat del Convent from 7.00pm to 9.00pm, with the big carnival party following on at 11.00pm. The Port de Pollenca celebrations are on the 4 & 5th February.
Soller has it's Ruetta parade on the 5th February at 4.00pm starting at carrer Bisbe Colom, Soller. The Rua parade is on February 6th at 4.00pm, starting by the car park Can Miro, Port de Soller.
