The annual travel convention is returning to the island of Mallorca two years ahead of schedule. The troubles in North Africa forced organisers at travel association, ABTA, to reconsider plans to hold this year's event in Tunisia.

Based in Palma de Mallorca, the convention will take place from 3rd to 5th October. It begins with a golf tournament and opening reception and will be brought to an end with a speech by guest speaker, Lord Jeffrey Archer. As well as debating burning issues facing the industry, delegates will have an opportunity to see the best of island during their visit with numerous shows, activities and festivals scheduled over the three days.

The ABTA convention is the UK's largest gathering of travel industry professionals. This will be the fifth conference held in Palma since 1973.
