Boost for winter activity holidays in Mallorca
Jet2.com to offer flights from the UK to Mallorca in February 2014
Jet2.com will extend their flight programme in 2014 so that it starts in February rather than Easter, in order to meet demand from walkers and cyclists who come to Mallorca for these activities early in the year.
The airline will offer the routes between both Leeds and Manchester to Palma from February 2014 and will operate these flights twice a week, thus adding an extra 27,300 places to already existing ones.
Jet2 will be one of only two airlines offering not only flights but also package holidays. Jet2 plan to work with specific hotels that offer active holidays such as walking and cycling in both the north and south of Mallorca.
The airline have chosen to work with 14 hotels in order to accommodate holidaymakers and they hope that the success of the British Olympic teams using Mallorca as a training ground during the winter (cycling, swimming & diving) will encourage people to try Mallorca for themselves.
Flights range from £40-£90 for a single fare and bike bags are an additional £30 each way. Be aware that to book a bike bag on board you must contact the Jet2 call centre directly.
