A 41 year old British man, who Spanish police have named as Gary Vigors, has been killed by a fellow Brit in Magaluf, Majorca. He was attacked in Cafe Plaza, Punta Ballena, by Thomas Swannell, 44, after an argument broke out between the two men. It appears that Mr Vigors, from Essex, was a tourist on holiday in Mallorca.

The incident happened at 2.20am on Saturday morning, when the men started fighting after having a disagreement. The victim was slashed in the neck with a broken bottle during the fight, and bled to death at the scene. The Civil Guard were rapidly on the scene to arrest his assailant, who is currently being held by the police in Palma.

Mr Swannell was travelling with Finedon Dolben cricket team, from Northants. He has provisionally been charged with voluntary manslaughter and will apear in court on Monday morning.
