It's not just Team Sky who have chosen Mallorca for their winter training programme - other Olympic and Para-Olympic cyclists have also been based in Alcudia, taking advantage of Mallorca's facilities for cyclists.

World champion para-cyclist Jody Cundy along with other members of the British Cycling para-cyclists squad have based themselves with Team Sky in Alcudia as they train for this seasons races.

The para-cyclists have used Mallorca as a training base for many years in order to build up the athletes endurance and aerobic training. Jody Cundy and other track para-cyclists have been somewhat disheartened since the London Olympics as there are no major international track para-cycling events in 2013, just one year before the Commonwealth Games in Glagsow.

Other cyclists from the British Cycling team who have been enjoying the winter training camp in Mallorca include Dani King, Lizzie Armistead and Laura Trott who all took part in last years Olympics in London. Some of the cyclists have also been training at the Velodrome cycling track in Palma Arena.

Para-cyclist Jody Cundy was knocked off his bike this weekend while out on a training ride in Mallorca. He was left relatively unharmed in an accident that could have been far more serious. He tweeted 'I got knocked off my bike when I overtook a car that indicated one way and then decided to change his mind as I was coming past. Thankfully I’m in one piece, a few cuts to my knee and bruised the pad of my palm. But all in one piece and able to fight another day'.
