Buskers Forbidden in front of Palma Cathedral

The cathedral & town hall are to become music free zones

featured in News & reviews Author Ellie Mahoney, Mallorca Editor Updated

A new city ordinance in Palma (Ordenanza Civica) means that musicians or buskers will be barred from playing in front of the Cathedral La Seu, the town hall, the park s'Hort del Rei and the Calle Antoni Maura below the cathedral.

There will be places nearby that they will still be allowed to play, such as the Santa Eulalia behind the town hall, or the stairs that lead to the cathedral.

Cartoonists & painters will be allowed to carry on but only selling their own work, and any parasols they might use must only be in plain white so as not to apparently spoil the cityscape.
