Holidays in Mallorca Expect Record Numbers
“Historic” August and September for Holidays in Mallorca
Hotels in Mallorca, Palma Airport and the Port of Palma are all reporting record numbers for August Summer Holidays.
The increase in numbers and spending are not yet official and will be confirmed by the data from the INE at the end of September but indicators are positive and it looks like there will be rise in 3 to 5 points.
The increase is due to a rise in the numbers of British, German and Scandinavian and more recently Russian tourists. International incidents in countries like Egypt have had a positive effect on Mallorca's tourism industry too with companies like Tui cancelling all flights to Cairo until next year.
As the end of the busy summer season begins to draw nearer Hoteliers and business owners are looking forward to September when the package holiday makers tend to disperse and make way for tourists who historically spend more money than budget holiday makers.
