French Michelin starred chef Christophe Dufau is returning to Mallorca this week on Thursday 21st June to create some gourmet magic in Limon y Chelo, the restaurant of the non-profit cultural centre Sa Taronja in Andratx. This will be the chef's third visit to Mallorca, and he gives his time free of charge to Sa Taronja so that funds can be raised for the centre.

Christophe's restaurant Les Bacchanales in Vence near the French Riviera features local produce and his beautifully presented dishes incorporate little known herbs & edible flowers. He was awarded a Michelin star in 2008 and he is committed to producing exquisite yet affordable cuisine.

He was first introduced to Sa Taronja by the jewellery designer Esty Grossman, who has known the president of Sa Taronja, Tina Horne for many years.

Tina explained 'Esty brought Christophe here first in September 2011, once again in January 2012 and this is the third time. He comes because he finds it fun, he likes to travel and cook in various places and discover new ingredients, and he likes Sa Taronja, and he cooks for us for free, in support of the centre'.

Christophe will be preparing a seven course menu that will feature local ingredients & will be matched by fine wines from some of Mallorca's best bodegas. The price for this gourmet evening is an absolute steal at €85 - the price includes four wines, water, bread and a welcome glass of Cava. If you are a member of Sa Taronja (or would like to become one), the price is €70. On the Wednesday evening, dinner will be accompanied by music from local guitarist Sebastian Moner and jazz with Sheela Gathright & Richard Vinton. No music on the Thursday evening will allow diners to concentrate on the food!

Esty will also be exhibiting her work during the evening - her designs can be seen on billboards in the USA and she will be showing her collection inspired by her passion of diving in the Mediterranean.

Sa Taronja aims to promote and support the arts and cultural exchange in the south west of Mallorca. They arrange many events throughout the year, including concerts, work shops and art exhibitions. They rely on their members and the public for all their funding so please do go along on Wednesday or Thursday to experience a fantastic Michelin meal and to support their cause.

Visit the Sa Taronja website for more details or use the form below to email them, or call on +34 971 13 63 68 to make your reservation. The evening starts at 7.30pm.
