New design hotel for Palma

Four star Balanguera Hotel is inspired by Mallorcan tradition

The stylish 4-star Balanguera hotel owned by HM hotel group is now open to guests. Catering especially for city breaks the hotel is close to Palma's city centre, ideal for getting to the tourist attractions and shops on foot.

The interior was designed by Maria Antonia Horrach who was inspired by a poem by writer and poet Joan Alcover. The design has been carefully considered to provide an unusual mix of modern style against Mallorcan tradition and the walls form part of the artwork. The hotel offers a relaxing rooftop terrace complete with small swimming pool.

The hotel would not be out of place in Barcelona, with it's sinuous curvy building and pure white interior. The bedrooms feature natural stone basins and the ususal mod-cons. Other traditional features include locally made fabrics and decorations from Mallorca's potters and carpenters. The hotel is situated just outside the inner ring road on Carrer Balanguera, about two kilometres from the old town centre.

The 40 room hotel has rates starting at around €110.
