Number of entrants for Mallorca 312 cycle race doubles
The Consell of Mallorca today confirmed that over 400 cyclists from 13 nations have signed up for the ‘Mallorca 312' cycle race, which takes place on Saturday. This means the number of participants has doubled since last year's inaugural event.
Competitors have a choice of two routes, both starting and finishing in Playa de Muro. The first and most challenging is the ‘Mallorca Iberostar Playa de Muro 312', a 312 kilometre circuit round the island and the second, a shorter, 167 kilometre circuit, centred around the Tramuntana mountain range.
Guest starring in this year's race is Spanish cyclist, Oscar Pereiro, winner of the 2006 Tour de France.
