Palma de Mallorca is expecting around 50,000 visitors at this years 30th edition of the International Boat Show.

The five day event begins on the 1st May, and since lat year's event was cancelled due to lack of funding and interest from exhibitors, this years event is expected to be back with a bang!

Mallorcan President Jose Bauza is hoping the event will be a good opportunity to promote boating and the Balearic Islands, especially as Mallorca is already a massively popular destination in the Mediterranean for sailing. (The boating industry in Mallorca creates a turnover of around €800 million a year, €200 million of which is from ship building and repairs.)

Palma will also be hosting the inaugural Palma International Yachting Forum, running in parallel with the Boat Show. This "must attend" event for yachting professionals will create a large networking platform, key to the success of any boat show, and attract event more interest and visitors to the events.

Typically, visitors to the Boat Show spend more than the average visitor, so the local businesses and hotels are looking forwards to reaping the rewards.
