Roadworks from Palma to Soller will slow Mallorca holiday traffic

New road surface between Palma and Soller this summer

The road to Soller from Palma will undergo works for the next four months. The project aims to improve the road surface for the 15 000 cars that travel on the road from Palma to Soller.

The project has a budget of €500 000 and work has begun on the water ditches and storm drainage which has narrowed the road in both directions between Palma and Bunyola. The surface will be changed to make it less slippery and safety barriers are to be erected.

During the works traffic will be slowed down and delays are to be expected. If you are travelling to Soller you can avoid the road by taking the old Soller railway from Placa Espanya in Palma to the town. The journey takes a little longer than the road and is a little shaky but it's a fun way to travel and has some pretty views.
