After visiting the beautiful town of Soller in Mallorca, tourists can now take a piece of it home, so to speak. Sant Bartomeu Agricultural Cooperative in Soller have just released its new tinned Mallorcan extra virgin olive oil. This great product is perfect for tourists to take away with them as the tins can be carried safely in your luggage.

The new tinned product was presented by Isabel Oliver, head of department for Mallorca’s Council of Economy and Tourism, at the El Corte Ingles department store in the Avenidas in Palma on Wednesday June, 23.

What sets this olive oil apart from others is that some studies have shown this particular extra virgin oil is the only one of its kind to exhibit curative properties. ‘If people complain that the olive oil is too expensive, it’s because of its unbeatable properties’, Jose Manuel Piñel, Cooperative Director, said.

Olive oil contains a high level of anti-oxidants and mono-unsaturated fatty acids, and studies have shown that it offers good protection against heart disease. Extra virgin olive oil is considered to be the best as it is the least processed, and so contains the maximum amount of nourishment.

The 'Olis Soller' extra virgin olive oil is on sale at El Cortes Ingles department store in Palma.
