The TaPalma tapas festival returns to Palma from 7th to 11th October, with over 50 restaurants participating in this annual celebration of Spain's tapas tradition. Food lovers will be able to follow five trails over the five day event in Santa Catalina, Placa Espagna, Palma Centre, La Llonja, and a 'between routes' which comprises three restaurants in the outskirts of Palma.

The tapas will be priced at €2 per piece, and the idea is to follow one of the trails and try as many tapas as you feel able, and visit restaurants that you may never have known about before. You can take a trail at lunchtime, from 12.30pm to 4.00pm, or in the evening, from 7.30pm until 12 midnight.

In the past years, thousands of people have taken part in this gastronomic adventure, and it attracts visitors from all over the world.

There is also a competitive edge to the festival. Each restaurant creates a new tapas dish for the festival which is entered into the TaPalma competition to win the accolade of 'Best tapa of 2010'.
