Wildfire Destroys 7000m of Forest at Son Severa

Fast responses by local fire teams got the blaze under control

A fire in Puig Son Sard yesterday lunchtime wiped out around 7000m of pine forest before it could be put out.

Dozens of emergency team members raced to put out the fire, which was discovered shortly after noon yesterday.

Two water-bearing planes a helicopters and various ground crews were called into action.

There were apparently no homes in immediate danger and the fire was put out by around 4pm.
