The Allure of the seas, the world's largest cruise liner will make twenty two stops in Palma de Mallorca in 2015 bringing an expected 8.5 Million Euros to the Island.

The Chairman of the Port Authority revealed yesterday that the cruise liner, owned by Royal Caribbean will make twenty two visits to Palma next summer bringing an estimated 139,000 visitors to the island.

The news comes after plans were announced at the end of the summer that Palma would be extending and renovating the harbour to make it a port rather than just a stop over point for cruise ships. The plans seem to have worked and it is hoped that summer 2014 will see a 3% increase in cruise traffic and summer 2015 a 6% increase.

With Palma now acting as a port guests on the cruise liner will be able to disembark and make the most of Palma's excellent restaurants, shops and cafes. As the Allure of the Seas has a crew of 2300 and the potential to carry 6226 passengers this is good news for Palma de Mallorca.
