In 2015, Mallorcan hotels will close one week later than last year. The island's high season will be extended until November, following a great summer for the Balearic tourist industry.

This decision will undoubtedly impact on the local economy, not only for Mallorcan businesses, but also in the creation of long-term jobs.

The island has achieved record numbers in the amount of tourists this year, despite a reduction of 10.7% in the arrivals from Germany. The Spanish Ministry of Tourism has revealed that this August, Mallorca received the largest quantity of visitors ever recorded: 1.75 million.

Foreign tourists have prompted this growth, reaching an impressive 31% increase in the last 5 years. After Germans, British are second, while the Italian, French, Portuguese and Swiss markets have been responsible for the strongest expansion.
