Palma student rap to support the Cancer Support Group

Cancer Support Group Mallorca are getting together with 'Ballboys' from the UK and organising a campaign to raise awareness regarding male cancers.

Women are aware of the need to check themselves and symptoms to be aware of when it comes to female cancers, but men are either not aware of the risks or reticent to go to the doctors when they detect possible symptoms.

The idea of Pro-TEST is to make men aware of the risk of prostate and testicular cancer, especially among the younger generations who are often ignorant of the dangers, and to regularly check themselves and know what symptoms to watch for.

Testicular cancer can affect men as young as 15 to 45 so who better to deliver the message?  Youngsters!! Therefore CSG Mallorca approached Ali Lawrence the Head of Palma College and explained the message they wished to get across to the young male population. The project was put to the students and the Head of Drama and the students have written and recorded an amazing Rap explaining about Testicular Cancer. (Watch the video below!)

The campaign is ongoing but November will be the main month, the support group are planning a day of talks in Spanish and English, where men and women can go to learn more about the subject. There will also be a fundraising dinner, and they are hoping that local businesses will get involved handing out leaflets related to the campaign, as well as organising their own fundraising events.
