After a year of building works, Palma's new shopping centre is finally open. Offering around 120 shops, restaurants and entertainment facilities, this massive complex is located near the airport, in the Coll d'en Rabassa neighbourhood.

More than 190 million euros have been invested in FAN Mallorca Shopping, which spreads out over 170,000 square metres and has been developed by Carrefour Property. Inside, it features international brands such as Primark, H&M, C&A, Decathlon, Mango, Benetton, Vans, Foot Locker, Adidas, Tiger, Starbucks or Burger King. There is also space for local businesses such as Naturalmente Mallorca homeware, Tin Tin perfumery or Horno de Santo Cristo bakery.

One of the main attractions at this commercial complex is its mobile app, which lets visitors choose the shopping centre's music by voting their favourite playlist created by DJ and producer Carlos Jean, and shows all the available spots in its massive parking area. The app even includes a game to catch FAN Mallorca Shopping's mascot, Puput, similar to the ultra-popular Pokemon Go.

Promoters predict that around 10 million people will visit the shopping centre every year. Thursday was certainly a raging success, with queues starting to build up thirty minutes before the doors opened and not a free space in the parking area only an hour and a half after.
