Like every winter, the highest peaks of the Serra de Tramuntana were covered in a beautiful white blanket of snow last Saturday and Sunday. Many people decided to visit the mountains this weekend to enjoy the unusual landscape and play with the snow.

Up to 20 centimetres of snow fell at 800 metres, a significant snowfall that meant that, even when the temperatures rose on Sunday, there were still lots of places where locals and tourists could play with the white stuff. These included the Gorg Blau and some of the highest villages on the island like Cúber, Orient and Escorca.

Most of the roads accessing the Serra de Tramuntana had to be closed due to the adverse conditions, but that didn't stop people from getting to the mountains. Viewpoints like the Mirador de Ses Barques and iconic sites like the Lluc Monastery and the Castle at Alaró filled up with people eager to enjoy the Mallorcan snowy landscape.
