Fera Restaurant & Bar, Palma Centre & Marina style of cuisine

A Valentine’s blow-out in the capital

The city of Palma has more than its fair share of great gourmet experiences for you to try this Valentine’s day, so let’s run through our top picks.

Perhaps Fera Restaurant & Bar could seduce you with their special Valentine’s Day tasting menu? Picture arriving at this beautifully restored palace in the heart of Palma’s old town to be welcomed by a special Valentine’s Day cocktail. The gastronomic adventure here commences with ‘Delights from the Mediterranean Sea presented in an oyster shell’, after which you will be served a ‘Foie mi-cuit with mango chutney, Pedro Ximénez reduction and dried-fruit bread’. For the main course, you will have to weigh up your options between ‘Seabass with a variation of artichokes, yuzu gel, and miso Hollandaise’ or ‘Breast of duck with Peking sauce, apple purée, and pineapple chutney’ both sounding equally delicious if you ask us! Onto dessert, ‘Strawberries in balsamic with an infusion of red berries and yoghurt’ and ‘Textures of chocolate with passion-fruit sorbet’ before the finale, where you will be served a selection of ‘Petit Four’ (55€ per person).

Their lovingly made menu begins with a ‘Tempura of sobrassada and cheese with rosemary honey’, followed by a ‘Wonton stuffed with lobster and courgette, black truffle oil and red curry emulsion’. Is your mouth watering yet? The deal for the main course is that you have to share. So fish lovers should opt for the ‘Mediterranean fish and sea food platter, sprouts salad and miso mayonnaise’ whilst the more carnivorous couples should opt for the ‘Grilled meats platter with potato, green peppers and chimichurri’. You are in for a treat with a ‘White chocolate, passion fruit and raspberry concoction’ for dessert (59€ per person including bread, water, a bottle of house wine and coffee).

Posh portside dining in Mallorca

We would highly recommend spending Valentine’s Day in the glamorous marinas of Port Adriano or Puerto Portals. Although, be aware, you might have to compete for your lover's attention here, for they might be spending more time admiring the spectacular yachts outside than looking into your eyes across the table.

The plush contemporary décor certainly provides a romantic environment for you and your partner at Port Adriano’s stylish Bruno Restaurant. The Valentine’s Day menu here is extremely reasonable but this doesn’t mean it lacks luxury ingredients. To start you on your journey the ‘Grilled artichokes with foie gras and Iberico ham’ will deliver a taste explosion within your mouth, courtesy of the selection of contrasting flavours. This is then tailed by ‘Seabass tartar’ bringing some exotic flavours into the mix. For the main course, you will be guided back to Mediterranean dishes with a choice of ‘Seabream with vegetables’ or ‘Grilled beef with potato gratin’. And we finish with a heart-warming ‘Apple tart with ice cream’ to satisfy your sweet craving (33€ per person).

For a Valentine’s day feast, head down Puerto Portals and enjoy a special 6-course menu at the age-old favourite Flanigan Restaurant. There’s definitely a Mediterranean theme running through the menu here. To begin with, you will be presented with the finest ‘Jamon Iberico 100% Bellota S.R.C served with crystal bread’. This is then followed by a Mallorcan speciality, ‘Red prawn croquettes’, before being treated to a fishy favourite with the ‘Lobster salad’. Next up, a more creative dish with the ‘Potato, corral eggs and truffle carpaccio’ which sounds like it will send your taste buds into a flutter! Depending on whether fish or meat is your type, for the main event you can choose between a ‘Galician sirloin Steak’ or a ‘Loin of seabass from Bilbao’. And the grande finale comprises of a Saint Valentine tart for you and your partner in crime to enjoy (46€ per person).
