Yesterday the British newspaper The Sunday Times released their top 50 "Best Places to Live in the World 2015". And Palma de Mallorca came out as the overall winner!

Ahead of cities such as Adelaide, Toronto and Auckland, the Island's capital was said to be "one of the most picturesque Spanish cities — we think it has it all."

The judges for the Sunday Times were:

Helen Davies is editor of Home and a book reviewer. She is based in London, but if she could live anywhere in the world it would be Portland, or Hoi An, or Toronto. Then again, perhaps Wales.

Alex Chesterman is the CEO of Zoopla Property Group. He is a leading entrepreneur and has been named one of the 100 key people in UK residential property. He lives in London with his family.

Their list of the top 50 was compiled based on towns and villages that were close to stunning beaches, great and rugged countryside, places that are good for families, great cities to kick start a career, places with a buzz that is hard to beat. And according to the judges, Palma has it all! It was praised not only for all of these things but also its infrastructure, accessibility and of course, gastronomy...and who could dispute that?

So congratulations to Palma, we all know that it is the best place to live but it is always nice to hear that others think that too!
