Mallorca in Europe's top 10 destinations 2018

Chosen by millions of travellers from all around the globe, Trip Advisor has just released their best destinations for 2018 and Mallorca has been picked as the 9th best in Europe and 2nd in Spain. The Balearic Island, once an inspiration for the legendary music composer Chopin, poet Sir Robert Graves and artist Joan Miro, is still now one of the most popular destinations in the world thanks to its wonderful landscapes, stunning beaches, rich culture, vibrant gastronomy and appealing climate.

During the 20th century, Mallorca was mainly considered a summer beach holiday location but the 21st century has seen it transform into more of a year-round destination. The winter attracts a whole host of outdoorsy people, particularly keen cyclists and hikers wanting to explore the magnificent Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. Mallorca is also rich in history and spectacular architecture which means culture vultures are flocking here to see some of the historic sights and important landmarks all throughout the year. Of course, the island remains most renowned for being a beach holiday haven, which is evident as millions of visitors flock to the island to make the most of its soft sandy beaches and turquoise waters between March and October.

Mallorca also suits a wide range of budgets and an equally diverse variety of people with individual holiday needs. Some are seeking a quiet luxury retreat in one of the more peaceful pockets away from the beaten track whilst others lap up the commercial beach resorts that tend to be good value for money. Whichever you prefer, Mallorca has plenty to offer including top-notch restaurants, watersports, theme parks, boat trips, wine tastings, golf, tennis, yoga retreats and so much more.
