Mallorca Introduces Feline Finders for Yachts

Since this summer activity is so popular, and also on the back of the video of KLM's Lost & Found dog (below) going viral, the powers that be in Mallorca came up with the idea that cats could provide an essential part of yachting life as 'Feline Finders'. Not only can they squeeze into the smallest spaces in the yacht to find your lost belongings but these feline friends can even jump into the water and rescue a dropped set of keys or a mobile phone.

The breed of cat selected are used to wet conditions. The Turkish Van is an excellent hunter and the breed is generally very social, with a friendly disposition toward people. They are very playful and lively and in fact many Turkish Vans will play fetch, and may bring a toy to their owner to initiate play. Nicknamed the "swimming cats", due to an unusual fascination with water, these are the perfect breed for the job!
