With the Balearic Islands as a whole being a popular destination for some of the world's richest and most glamorous yacht owners, the word on the street (or the dock-side) is that 2015 has seen a record number of superyachts in and around Mallorca.

Whether summer cruising and schmoozing, a facelift and refit or some repair work, the marinas and yards of Mallorca have been busy. However many of the companies are now gearing up for the Autumn Yacht Shows with Monaco being one of the most popular, and lucrative, on the circuit.

This years event will see plenty of Palma-based companies making their way across the Mediterranean to the glitzy destination of Monte-Carlo and Monaco. They see this as the perfect platform to generate more business.

“This will be our 14th year as an exhibitor and every year we head towards the show with a developing air of excitement,” says Roger Horner, managing director of E3 Systems. “Compared to other shows it costs a fortune but the return can be huge if you work it from the booth, on the aisles, restaurants, bars and parties. We believe it is worthwhile enough to have eight members of our team on the ground.”

On a whole the representation of Mallorcan yachting companies will not only be looking to gain new business but also to promote the Balearics as a fantastic cruising destination in the summer and as the ultimate refit centre in the winter.
