Back on court after a few months rest the Olympic gold medal winning duo of Marc Lopez and Rafa Nadal took another doubles victory at the Spanish National Championships, taking them through to the semi-finals today in Manacor, Mallorca.

The 6-2 6-0 win over Carlos Taberner and Bernabe Zapata on Thursday 15th December 2016 brings the duo one step closer to taking the Spanish National doubles title.

Rafael Nadal has struggled with form over the past few years, cutting his 2016 season short due to persistent injury. However, he is showing good form again now in the doubles tournament and it is hoped that he will return to singles action at the Mubadala World Tennis Championships in Abu Dhabi later this month.

2017 is set to be a busy year for Nadal as his ATP schedule reveals he is looking to take part in 19 tournaments. For now though we wish him and his doubles partner, Marc Lopez, all the best in their semi-final bid today at Nadal's recently-opened tennis Academy in Manacor.
