New Measures to Improve Playa de Palma

The project aims to give the area a boost

Palma's town council has agreed on a number of regulations to enhance the conditions at Mallorca's biggest holiday resort, Playa de Palma. These will tackle issues like security, alcohol consumption and cleanliness.

The beach resort is undoubtedly one of the most popular in the island, making it a very busy tourist hub with all the complications brought about by crowds. This new plan to revamp the area includes a control on who can sell alcohol and when, more security, especially regarding street vendors and prostitution, and the supervision of local businesses' appearance.

There will be inspections before the summer season begins to confirm that all new measures are being followed, together with an information campaign to enforce them. Authorities will also collect money to rehabilitate the neighbourhood and ensure its cleanliness.

All these actions will hopefully turn Playa de Palma into an even safer and more beautiful space!
