Palma Lights Up On Black Friday

This Friday, 27th November, the Christmas lights of Palma will be switched on

93 streets will be illuminated this year across the city as the run up to the festive season begins in earnest. Tis the season to be jolly!

At 17:45 on Friday evening the festivities will being ready for the lights to be switched on at port de Sant Antoni, Placa d'Espanya and Passeig des Born. The parade will begin the evening, which will be followed by a performance by the Youth Choir of Palma and the turning of the lights at 19:30. (Full programme can be found here in Spanish only)

The council is spending a budget of €552,000 on the festive illuminations so they are sure to put on a good show! This will be an evening not to be missed.

The annual Christmas markets will take place in Placa Major and Placa d'Espanya from 2nd December until the 6th January, daily from 10:00 until 22:00.

Restaurants across the Island will generally be open for a special Christmas lunch or dinner but be sure to make a booking in advance to ensure you are not disappointed!
