Around 200 stolen bikes are currently being stored in the municipal pound at Son Toells, but the gates will open over the next few days for residents to reclaim their two wheels companions.

Being someone who has had a bike stolen in the past I can sympathise with those who are in the same situation. I remember crying on the phone to my mum once I realised what had happened, calling the police and trying to remain calm, and the months of walking to work while I saved up for another bike! But I also remember the day when the police called me to say they had found my stolen bike. Being re-united with your bike...even though she has a different saddle and some cheaper pedals...is a wonderful thing!

On February 6th, 7th & 8th you will be able to check the bikes on display to see if your stolen one is among them. To be able to reclaim the bike, you must be able to provide identification, a document proving the theft was reported to police, pictures of the bike and a receipt of purchase or other documents proving ownership.

Local Police will be on hand to assist you at the bike pound, which is located at Camino 5312 140, Palma de Mallorca.
