The BBC is returning to Mallorca after filming the ultra-successful, triple Golden Globe winner 'The Night Manager' on the island in 2015. The British broadcasting service's newest project in the Balearics is called 'The Mallorca Files' and will start production in November.

This ten-part drama has been created by Dan Sefton, the writer behind 'The Good Karma Hospital' and 'Trust Me'. Set among the ex-pat community on the island, according to the BBC's official synopsis the show will tell the story of "a British and German detective clashing over their very different approaches to policing the island. While self-confessed introverted Brit Miranda Blake takes her career (as well as everything else in life) seriously, German Max Wolf is a classic extrovert and unashamedly unconventional."

Sefton has said that 'The Mallorca Files' will draw influences from Almodovar to the Coen Brothers and will be action-packed. Hopefully, it will also portray the beauty of Mallorca just as well as 'The Night Manager' did - to explore its stunning locations, hop on a boat and follow the steps of Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston.
