Tragedy in the Mallorcan Mountains this Week
Two accidents in just one week leaves two German women dead
A second accident on Wednesday (22nd April) led to the death of a young German woman who was hiking in the Pas d'en Barona area.
The 24 year old fell down a 10 metre embankment, and despite the best efforts of the Mallorcan fire brigade and Guardia Civil who quickly airlifted her to Son Espases hospital in Palma, docotrs were unable to resusitate her.
The previous Wednesday (15th April) a 50-year-old German hiker was in the Tramuntana mountains near Deia. The woman lost her balance on slippery ground and fell over the rocks. According to the rescuers she fell on her head and sadly died instantly.
