What's On this Week 31st May 2013
June is upon us now and here in Mallorca that means we have some BIG opening parties ahead of us and the beginning of some of the major events of the Summer.
So if you are looking for something to do over the next week you are in luck there's lots happening and here's our pick of the bunch.
Since Thursday the 17th Cala d'Or Jazz Festival has been bringing live Jazz to the east coast of Mallorca and if you want to see Jazz musicians from all over the world then there is still plenty of time. The festival is on until the 5th June and the concerts take place in the Inturo Hotel in Cala d'Or.
The first of the Es Paradis Hed Kandi nights will kick off on Saturday. Every Saturday throughout the summer the Palma club will play host to dancers and DJs from neighbouring Ibiza and the nights should be some of the most lavish and decadent on the island this summer. Book a table from $40 for the opening night through the Es Paradis website
For a chance to enjoy some of Mallorca's home grown wine and some local tapas head over to Santanyi tonight for the Art, Wine and Tapas festival Santanyiart. There will be a train running through the town on a Tapas trail stopping at 12 different cafés and restaurants. From 7pm 'til 10pm there will be an open wine tasting from eleven wineries in Binissalem and on Saturday the giants parade will take to the streets and the art fair will take place in Santanyi.
Over in Calvia Jake Bugg will be opening up the Mallorca Rocks summer on Tuesday. Last year's opening party with Ed Sheeran was one of the best gigs of the summer in Magaluf and the buzz building about Jake Bugg playing the beach-side hotel should ensure that this week's concert lives up to last year's.
Tickets for the gig can be purchased from the Mallorca Rocks Hotel and cost about €20. The doors open at 19:00 but the main act doesn't usually take to the stage until about 10.30.
This year's Mallorca Rocks line-up looks like it is building on past years success stories and promises some of the best live music nights on the island this summer, we're particularly excited about Beedy Eye's début at Mallorca Rocks and the return of the awesome Biffy Clyro.
However, the biggest part of the week promises to be the opening of Nikki Beach Mallorca. The Nikki Beach cocktail of cool, sexy house, great food and coctails was one of the success stories of last summer and we are expecting to see more and more from our favourite beach club this summer.
The summer 2013 opening party is this Thursday 6th June from 19:00, dress code is strictly white and reservations and invitations can be made through Seemallorca.
