Restaurant Reviews in Mallorca

El Olivo has been on our list of restaurants to review for some time. It has an excellent reputation for fine Mallorcan dining and promises a romantic and elegant ambiance.

The north of Mallorca is well known for it's tourist resorts and wonderfully long beaches. What is less well known is that it is home to some of the most beautiful countryside on the island. With the protected natural parks of Llevent, S'Albufera and S'Albufereta, it' no wonder that visitors flock here to enjoy the natural beauty.

Situated at the very bottom of the 365 Calvari steps in with a massive outdoor seating area La Scalinata is a people watchers paradise.

Lured in by their regular postings of delicious local produce on their Twitter account - I recently managed to pop in to Es Rebost in Palma centre to see if they are as good on-plate as online!

For a town the size of Soller, it is surprising how few restaurants there seems to be. Apart from the cafes around the main square and the restaurants found in the (good) selection of hotels, there are only a handful of independent places to dine (in contrast, the Port de Soller is crammed full of restaurants).

Nikki Beach's name has become synonymous as THE go-to beach club in some of the most prestigious destinations around the world, and we're lucky enough to have one right here, in southern Mallorca.

Nestled in the foothills of north-west Mallorca sits the majestic Son Brull Hotel & Spa. Once a monastery, this imposing building has been beautifully restored and then modernised to create the classic old-meets-new interior - we were immediately impressed... You enter the hotel through the most enormous glass door, just opening it brought a smile to our faces with its sheer grandueur and weight; and continue into the inner courtyard where the horses were once kept.

Whenever there is a poll about which country is the most romantic nation, France always seems to come up top. The image of a handsome and passionate Frenchman always seems to set the ladies pulses racing.

Son Julia Country House & Spa isn’t only to be enjoyed by hotel guests, anyone can dine at their first-class Las Bovedas Restaurant. Having eaten here before, I have fallen madly in love with the outdoor terrace. The tables are always elegantly set, and there’s such a magical ambiance in the golden hour before sundown.

The Frenchman and I were joined by James (creator our of our site videos) last weekend as we ventured out after a heavier-than-anticipated night in the bars of Palma. Our rather ill-timed destination was the wineries of Binissalem - it was enough to make us break out into a cold sweat. The wisdom of this choice was discussed on the journey, and was unanimously kicked into touch in favour of - you've guessed it - lunch.

On Saturday, February 1st, I went along to the 2nd edition of The SuppER Club, hosted by The Van Mallorca. This was a Japanese evening held at the trendy Zunray Yoga Studio on Calle Sant Feliu.

One of the most glamorous places to hang out in Mallorca is down by the harbour in Puerto Portals. This is where you'll find the multi-million pound yachts, chic and exclusive boutiques, and an array of smart restaurants and cafes. One of the best eateries in this area is Wellies Bar & Restaurant. Part upmarket cafe, part stylish restaurant, part late-night bar, Wellies is one of those places that just fits the bill whatever you are looking for.

If you’re after something a little special but still family friendly, if you want fine dining but cheerful service and if you love your local ingredients and wine then you’ll want to visit Osteria N15 in the market square of Puerto Pollenca.

Lola is a vibrant gastro-lounge bar in Cala d’Or receiving rave reviews for its range of drinks and instagrammable food, making it a must for any visitor to the area.

Il Paradiso is one of the most intriguing restaurants I have eaten in on Mallorca. Located in Cala Major, just west of Palma, this Italian restaurant sits sandwiched between the Marivent Palace (the official Mallorcan residence of the Spanish Royal family), the Bay of Palma, and a busy road.

For something a little bit different check out Tiberi, a relaxed and friendly restaurant serving an eclectic mix of tapas, burgers, meat and fish dishes, stir-fries and crepes all hinting at a fusion mentality and dotted with Asian flavours.

Port de Soller is one of our favorite places in Mallorca. It’s stunning horseshoe bay has turquoise blue waters and is framed beautifully by the surrounding Tramuntana mountains.
