Day of the Balearics

Balearics Day, known as "Dia de les Illes Balears" in Catalan.

A significant celebration in Mallorca, this annual holiday, observed on March 1st, commemorates the date when the Balearic Islands' Statute of Autonomy was officially enacted in 1983.

On Balearics Day, Mallorca comes alive with a variety of cultural, social, and recreational activities organised throughout the island. Festivities typically include parades, traditional music and dance performances, street parties, sports competitions, art exhibitions, and gastronomic events featuring local specialties.
