Pollença hosts this wonderful little handicraft's fair, with lovely stalls selling local artisan goods, ranging from woven baskets to soaps, pottery and delightful papier-mache figures.

Pollenca is well known for its wonderful selection of arts and carfts shops in the old town, and this weekend represents an opportunity for their craftsmen to display the very best of their talents.

The interior of the Church of Sant Domingo is transformed into an interior design showroom, with various hand-mad creations, soft furnishings, clothing and ceramics of the best quality available to purchase or to simply admire. The exhibition continues into the cloister, where candles, hats, woven baskets, figurines, lamps and puppets join the display.

Around the streets of Pollenca, stalls of local produce, sweets, plants, jewellery, wine, soaps and scarves (to name but a few) are set up for you to wander around and enjoy. Featuring alongside the Artesan side of the fair is the agricultural celebrations. In previous years, the main square is transformed into a large vegetable patch, with traditional farmyard machinery and tools carefully displayed at random intervals through the streets. Many of the stall-keepers dress in traditional Majorcan clothing to help create a 'step back in time' feeling to the festival.

With pony rides and fairground attractions also available for the kids to play on, there is something for everyone at this Mallorcan fair. For further information, see the website.
