A British woman, Chantelle Serginson, fell from her sixth floor balcony in the beach resort of Magaluf, Majorca on Friday evening. The 24 year old from Middlesborough was on holiday in Majorca with her mother and sister when the accident happened.

She suffered multiple fractures to her head and legs and lost a number of teeth in the fall but was moved from intensive care to a regular ward on Sunday. Chantelle is being treated in the Son Espases hospital in Palma de Mallorca and is apparently conscious and able to talk.

According to the Mirror newspaper the civil guard commented saying; "We are treating this as a tragic accident. Witnesses have told us Chantelle was rowing with her Mum in the room shortly beforehand....She went out onto the balcony and for some reason climbed up on the railing....We do not believe she threw herself off intentionally."

Chantelle becomes the third Brit to be involved in a balcony fall this summer after Benjamin Harper and Charlotte Faris both tragically fell to their deaths earlier this year.
