After days of heavy rainfall in Majorca the hydrological phenomenon of Font Ufanes has water surging up through the ground. The Font Ufanes is located on the public estate of Gabelli Petit in Campanet and it can only be seen full of water a few times a year.

After heavy rainfall the Font fills with runoff water from an aquifer in the areas of Sa Pobla, Pollenca, Campanet and Buger. Sometimes the water can flow as fast as 100 cubic metres a second.

In order to preserve the Font Ufanes the Ministry of Environment bought the land in 2005. The spring is open to the public between 10am-5pm. The water should be around for a few days providing there is a bit more rainfall today.

Last year the Font filled with water in February and four times in November.
