Deep water soloing master Chris Sharma brought a very special guest over to Mallorca at the beginning of July. Jason Momoa, famous for his epic roles as Khal Drogo in 'Game of Thrones' and Aquaman, spent a couple of days on the island checking out its famous climbing routes.

The Hawaiian actor's passion for climbing is well documented on his social media posts, where you can see pics of him climbing with some of the best athletes in the world. A good friend of Chris Sharma, they spend time together regularly. Just this spring, they met in Budapest in mid-May while Sharma and Jimena Alarcón, his wife, were invited to the Aquaman premiere in London in November 2018.

After having visited Chris at his home town in Cataluña to try out the climbing routes over there a few years ago, Momoa has come to Mallorca to check out the island's legendary deep water soloing climbs. This unique sport involves climbing up cliffs with no ropes, water being the only safety net. Mallorca is the most famous place in the world to practise this activity and Chris Sharma, the best deep water solo climber on Earth, has brought many of his celebrity friends to the island on climbing expeditions.

It was Sharma who shared his adventures with Jason Momoa in Mallorca on Instagram, with a series of pics captioned "So special to share one of my all-time favorite places with some of my all-time favorite people. Even more, it was so cool to see @prideofgypsies (Jason Momoa) feel the island and this style of climbing embrace him. Much love hermano, after telling you about Mallorca and deep water soloing for so long it was such a treat to give you the proper tour. And even better that conditions permitted us to experience it at its finest." And it looks like Momoa has fallen in love with our island, "one of the greatest places I’ve ever been to", according to him. Momoa brought his two kids to the island and they were able to spend some time with Sharma's family in Port de Sóller, where they enjoyed a Mediterranean lunch at Cap Roig restaurant, in the luxury Jumeirah Hotel.

Do you want to try deep water soloing yourself? Then get in touch with Rock & Water who helped Momoa and Sharma plan their climbing adventure in Mallorca. They offer experiences for all climbing abilities, from total novice to hardcore crusher.
