Mallorca Movie Map

Discover the best film locations on the island

featured in News & reviews Author Ana Hernández, Mallorca Editor Updated

The gorgeous mountainous landscapes, breathtaking coastline and beautiful architecture of Mallorca have made it a favoured location for films, TV shows and ads. Many actors and actresses have also chosen the island as a permanent or temporary retreat. Now you can follow the path of the stars in Mallorca thanks to a new Movie Map.

The first film shot in Mallorca was the Italian production "Il Segreto dell'Anello" in 1913, but it was not until the late 1960s, when tourists arrived on the island, that Hollywood realised its potential. With over 300 days of sun per year, a whole range of locations to choose from and easy connections with the rest of the world Mallorca has, to this day, become a firm favourite among film crews from all around the globe.

Promoted by the Mallorca Film Commission and the Balearic regional government, the map shows where international productions like Cloud Atlas (Tom Tykwer & the Wachowski sisters, 2012), The Night Manager (Susanne Bier, 2016), Deadfall (Bryan Forbes, 1968) or Evil Under the Sun (Guy Hamilton, 1982) were filmed, as well as where superstars like Errol Flynn, Elke Sommer or Ava Gardner lived when on the island. You can grab a copy at the tourist offices on the island, or download the PDF from Mallorca Film Commission's website.
