There is nothing worse than getting ready to jump into the crystal clear waters of Mallorca, and just before a toe hits the water you see a swarm of jellyfish coming your way...

It is for just this reason that a group of friends in Mallorca decided to create a new App called 'Grumering'. An application that informs the user of the presence or absence of these nasty creatures on beaches around the coastline of the island.

Since its release for free download at the end of June it is getting almost 100 new users each day. You can become part of the community and alert other users as to the presence, or not, of jellyfish on a particular beach. So far there have been over 5000 incidents of jellyfish reported using the App.

So before you leave your hotel or villa for a day at the beach, use this new App to check that where you are going is clear of jellyfish so that you can dive right in without fear of being stung!
