Anastasija Sevastova, world's number 19, defeated the German Julia Goerges after a thrilling 2-hour and 14-minute match.

Sevastova had reached the final of Mallorca's grass-court tournament last year but she ended up losing against Caroline Garcia. She returned in 2015 after a 2-year break due to repeated injuries. This victory at the Santa Ponça Tennis Club has been her fist big win after her comeback.

When she received the prize, she reported that "Mallorca is the perfect place for a tournament like this. It’s my second final here. I won, but it was a tough match. I hope the tournament will be back here next year."
